Edition #2

Question:
1. Can we get a clarification on the extent of the work on Sheet FP-201? FP-102 shows demolishing fire risers in 8 locations, but FP-201 has a note that says reconnect water lines in 2 locations. However, the symbol for the connection (a box with a shaded X in it) is not up at the building where the fire risers were demolished but out at the edge of the parking lot. And there's an additional "1" in a hexagon without the connection symbol telling us where/what to connect.
Is the 8"/10" water line that runs around the building new? Are the PIV's new? If so, there are no details for underground piping, pavement crossings, etc.
The fire riser detail onFP-501 shows "existing" piping, so if we are just re-connecting the fire risers at the building in 8 locations (per FP-202 & the detail on FP-501) to existing piping, then FP-201 is wrong. And the drawings do not show what we are "reconnecting" out by the driveways.
Answer:
1. The water lines shown on drawing sheet FP-201 are existing. One is the domestic water line from the base water distribution system and the other is the water feed from the existing fire pump house to the building fire suppression system. The work shown on drawing sheet FP-201 is to connect these lines together at two locations identified by note 1. The extra note 1 shown on the plan should be deleted. Work includes installing tees and short pieces of pipe as needed to make these connections.
The fire risers on sheet FP-102 shown to be demolished should only be demolished back to the base of the fire riser. The existing underground fire service lines are to remain. As stated above the existing 8"/10" water line that runs around the building is existing. The PIV's are existing.
