QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Cut-off date for contractor questions is: 1:00 PM CST, 14 July 2020.

Questions Question 6: We need to understand the current path for speaker wire. Is it in conduits along the bomb runs? If it is, we can demo the existing and replace. If it is not, the cost is different for us. Also, along the canopies, I recall the speakers being installed high against the ceilings. Some pictures or specs according to heights or need of lifts are important to cost. What is the wiring path in the canopies? (pictures inside the canopies could solve much of these questions.

Government Response: Currently, the wiring goes through conduits along the Bomb Run. Preferably, to prevent corrosion or ground maintenance damage, request the wiring be through the existing Canopies. Legs to the canopies are approximately 25’ – 30’ with the peak being approximately 40’ high. Path of the wiring, determined by the installer to best meet the end means. Site visit would be best as I do not know exactly what you are looking for in the way of pictures.

Question 7: With that many microphones and mixing, it seems there will be more need for DSP to prevent feedback and echo?

Government Response: There needs to be a channel selection portion of the control equipment. Each channel can be turned down when not used and the channel used, turned up.

Question 8: How far of a distance do the wireless Mics need to operate?

Government Response: 30 yard radius, from the center of the Air Force Seal in front of Reviewing Stand Question 9: Approximate distance from the equipment cabinet location to where the mixing console will sit under the bleachers to the south of Bldg 2259 (not labeled on picture)?

Government Response: The mixing console will be housed in the equipment cabinet.

Question 10: The existing cabinet…..does it have any environmental controls? Temperatures are brutal at times. Fans aren’t adequate. How is heat currently being managed?

Government Response: No environmental controls to the cabinet. Each piece of equipment has its own internal fans. The equipment inside the cabinet is turned off until needed.
