RESPONSES TO INDUSTRY QUESTIONS #3

Questions

1. Is new cable requested/required for all the network drops? REPLY: No

a. If new cabling, what is the standard to be? (CAT6 or CAT6A).

REPLY: See SON para 1.1.1 b), if the vendor is not using existing cabling.

b. If new cabling does the old cabling need to be removed? In some cases the old cabling has to be removed to make room for new cabling but in some areas the old cable can be abandoned in place and not removed.

REPLY: All unused cabling must be removed.

2. Since the Aruba APs are staying in place, can you provide information on the existing

WiFi network? This is needed to ensure the networks are not interfering with one another.

REPLY: Unknown at this time. Bid the way you see it.

a. Are you using Static or Dynamic channel assignments? REPLY: Anticipate Static.

b. Are the APs 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz or both? REPLY: Unknown, anticipate both.

c. What channels are being used (e.g. 1-11)? REPLY: Not known.

d. What channel width is being used (e.g. 20MHz, 40MHz, 80MHz)? REPLY: Not Known. Anticipate the worst.

3. Can the base provide single mode fiber from building 10504 to building 1050 (dmarc)?

REPLY: Unable to answer at this time.

4. Does the new WiFi need to cover the office areas? RFQ indicated two large public areas only but comment during site walk indicated “whole building”.

REPLY: WIFI should cover the areas identified in the SON and attachments.
