502 CONS/JBKAE Purchase Request #FA301620Q0035 JBSA Lackland, TX Sporting Equipment Mobility Kits
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Cut off date for contractor questions is 12:00 pm CST, 2 April 2020. Questions
(Addendum 1 – 4/2/2020)
Question 1: Does the requirement need the following item?
REI Co-Op Flash 18 Pack:
Hydration – compatible design includes a hose exit port and an internal sleeve for a reservoir
When you go to the website, the reservoir is not included.
Government Response: Reservoir is not needed or wanted
Question 2:If a reservoir is needed, what size pouch will be required?
Government Response: No pouch is required
Question 3: Table 1 of Attachment one: Is the product number 04332 or 04432?
Table 1 of Attachment 1 lists CLIN 0001 as TriggerPoint P/N 04332, Foam Roller / Carbon Foam Roller, Color: Black, 26 inch.
1. Please confirm the size you need: 13” or 26”? The picture shows the 13” version.
2. If the 13” version is requested, the part number is not correct. The correct part number is 04432 as shown on Page 2 of Attachment.
3. REQUEST: Confirm length and update Table 1 to 13” length and the correct part number of 04432.
4. Recommendation: Instead of using the Carbon Roller, we recommend a more popular and easier to use version under TriggerPoint P/N 00201 Grid Foam Roller. This will likely be better suited for this course
Government Response: 04432 is the correct part number and also the foam roller requested. We would not like to switch to Tripper Point Grid Foam Roller PN 00201.
Question 4: Attachment 1 – Lacrosse Ball: Did you want just a Lacrosse Ball or a recovery ball that meet the needs for soft tissue maintenance and myofascial release?
Page 2 of Attachment 1 – Lacrosse Ball. The ball specified has NCAA/NFHS and NOCSAE standards meant for college lacrosse. This lacrosse ball is not made for myofascial release or for use in the medical profession. The current Statement of Work is overly restrictive thus limiting competition and essentially a sole source for the Champion Sports P/N LBWNOCSAE lacrosse ball. A recovery ball designed for soft tissue maintenance to enhance physical injury recovery and maximize field performance should be provided in these Mobility Kits in lieu of a college lacrosse ball.
Implus manufacturers two options that are built for the specific use of this course for soft tissue maintenance and myofascial release.

REQUEST: Update Table 1 of Attachment to replace the Lacrosse Ball with RockTape RockBalls which are designed as recovery balls to perform self myofascial release with pinpoint accuracy. Link is here:
https://shop.rocktape.com/rockballs/ for the Implus RockBalls.
Another option in addition the RockBalls is the RockTape Infinity Balls. Two recovery balls fused together provide dual-action relief to sore muscles and joints. These can be used to roll Infinity Rockballs down your spine to relieve back pain, or target painful calves and hamstrings with twice the pinpoint accuracy. Again, these are specifically designed for this course and used by thousands of medical professionals instead of the Lacrosse Ball. Link to the RockBalls Infinity is here:
https://shop.rocktape.com/rockballs-infinity/
Government Response: The Lacrosse ball is what we want, NOT the Rock Balls or the Rock Tape Infinity Balls.
Question 5: The delivery schedule is on or before May 01. Will that be a requirement for the award?
Government Response: Delivery date is subject to change. The current date is just a place holder.
