Section C - Specification/SOW/SOO/ORD

Miscellaneous text in this section has been modified to:

1. It appear all the walls in both restroom are block walls? Are the walls going to be furred out for the new electrical installation for power and lighting and flush sensor wiring? If not, how are we to proceed with the rough in on the conduit in the block walls?

ANSWER: For the men's room hand dryers: Fur-out wall 1" and hang 5/8" moisture resistant gypsum sheathing.

Run new conduit inside furring for hand dryers. All other new power requirements to use existing chase walls.

Punch through block as needed.

2. During the site visit, the closest electrical closet appeared to have no spare breakers in any of the existing panelboard. How are we to proceed?

ANSWER: There are about 20 spare breaker spots within the panels located in the electrical closet adjacent to the men's room.

3. The SOW is calling for GFCI receptacles to be installed in both restrooms. The drawings don't show the new locations of the GFCI receptacles. What are the locations and what size wire is required? What panel are they feeding from? How far is the panelboard from the restroom?

ANSWER: Replace existing outlets only.

4. The SOW is calling for power for Automatic hand dryers to be install in both restrooms. What size breakers are require for each hand dryer? What size wire is required? What panel are they feeding from? What size conduit is required? How far is the panelboard form the restroom?

ANWER: 20 Amp For each, #12 GA copper wire. The panel is adjacent to the male restroom

5. The SOW is calling for wall mounted occupant sensors to be installed in place of the wall switch in each of the restrooms. When a person enters a stall the motion sensors will turn off the light when motion is not detected. Is this the correct type and location occupancy sensor?

ANSWER: Delete requirement for wall mounted sensors at the existing switch. Reuse existing switch. Add ceiling mounted Dual IR for lighting circuit. Place in restroom ceiling for best detection of occupancy.

6. The SOW calls for automatic Motion sensor faucets. Are automatic Motion sensor faucets battery power or 120v power? What size wire is required? What panel are they feeding from? How far is the panelboard from the restroom?

ANSWER: They are Battery Operated.

7. In the womens restroom there is an existing fire alarm speaker strobe wall mounted above the mirror, is it to remain?

ANSWER: Refer to SOW page 3 of 17 ( LEAVE INTACT AND OPERABLE).

8. Can a scale drawing be provided to show the closest electrical room with panelboard that has spare circuits?

Also the breaker type required for the panelboard?

ANSWER: The panel in adjacent to the male restroom. 20 Amp for each hand dryer.

9. On the SOW, all toilets are "Right height flush valve toilets", but, on the plumbing schedule (specs), the ADA toilets are flush valve and the remaining toilets are "tank type". Which is correct? ANSWER: All toilets to be flush valve type.

10. The two toilets that are being converted to ADA, what is their current distance from the finished wall to the center of the toilet (Left to Right/Right to Left)? ADA standard is 18" minimum. If they are less than the ADA standard, the drain piping will have to be moved accordingly which will require jack-hammering concrete.

ANSWER: They are 18".

11. The 1442 says that the bid time is 2:00AM. Please confirm that the time should read, "2:00PM"?

Answer: Yes, the bid time is 2:00 PM. This has been corrected on amendment 00001
