Questions and Answers

1. To verify the only new 4” duct bank infrastructure we are responsible for is the run between MH2801-4 and MH-02-C which is approximately 226’? All other 4” duct is existing for both fiber runs?

a. Yes the only new duct bank is between MH-2801-4 and MH-02C 2 Each 4” ducts with 3 each 3” Maxcell with 1 Maxcell being traceable.

2. To verify we are not installing any new Maintenance Holes on this contract?

a. Per Paragraph 2.2.14.1.1: No new maintenance holes to be installed from B1101 to B1002.

3. On the drawings what are the different colors of the cables routes signify (green, black, and orange)?

a. Page 21 Figure 1: Black line is your intended path.

b. Page 20 Figure 1: Black line is new 2 each 4” duct path; Green and orange represent existing infrastructure.

4. Will it be acceptable to the Government for the new Geo-textile Fabric to be a 1-3 Cell Maxcell with tracer wire? And will 2” width be acceptable?

a. Not acceptable Per Paragraph 2.2.14.1.3: Install three (3) Geo-Textile fabrics in both conduits.

3”-3 cell will be acceptable.

5. Do the existing FODP’s at each building have the SC Single Mode coupler panels in them as well?

Or do we need to add coupler panels in the FODP’s?

a. The FODPs at each building do not have the SC SM couplers installed, contractor should provide them for this installation.

6. Does the fiber have to be TAA, (referring to the Trade Agreements Act)?

a. The clause 52.225-9 Buy American – Construction Materials is included in the solicitation.

According to this clause the requirement to provide domestic construction material does not apply to information technology that is a commercial item.
