MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

SUBJECT: FA282317R4027 IRCM 4th Lane Facility Modifications Bldg 374 Site Visit

A. Test Area 109A:

1. Existing chamber wall & ceiling foam will be removed by Government prior to NTP.

2. Existing chamber (metal wall panels and existing false floor) to be removed by Government prior to NTP.

3. Pour concrete from loading dock.

4. Existing corridor floor Load level: 1200 lb point load capacity.

5. An Attendee questioned whether or not the Government has taken into consideration that they will need to hire a structural Engineer to design the pad and this will need to be done prior to the

NTP being issued. Government response was that this has been taken into consideration.

6. Back right corner of existing test chamber is where the hydraulics room will go.

7. Ceiling in test chamber is 19 ½’ high with 30 foot beams.

8. The existing concrete floor is 7” thick and will need to be partially removed in order to pour the new equipment pads. Shielding layer (existing floor level) is approximately 1” thick and then there is the concrete subfloor beneath.

9. Existing equipment pad is 4000 psi concrete and was poured in 1988 or 1989.

B. Test Area 109:

1. The salvageable floor panels are the ones in rooms 109 and 146A, and then there are 491 additional new (existing overstock) panels to be made available to the contractor.

2. The UPS that is to be relocated is sitting in the test area 109 and is 80 KVA. Electricity needed for new 1000 Amp service panel to be ran through the ceiling space in the corridor.

3. The 60-foot long wall shared with Test Area 146 will be coming down and being re-built into new configuration.

4. There is a mechanical room in the upstairs mezzanine of Room 109. There is minimal work to be done upstairs, only need the ability to control temperature.

5. An Attendee questioned the brand of EMCS controller. The response was that they thought it was SSI controls.

6. An Attendee questioned the extent of sound proofing required for the electrical penetrations and the response was that there was nothing SCIF-related, only seal penetrations with fire caulking.

C. Test Area 146:

1. Need for bigger door.

2. Equal potential ground grid floor (just like in 109/109A).

D. Outside mechanical room:

1. Iron horse.

2. 60-70 degree loop.

3. Saddle – penetrate PVC; 4 to 5” diameter lines to be put in.

4. Will require a control valve and shut off arm.

5. Existing process water is PVC.

6. An Attendee questioned whether or not the new process water is to be insulated and the

Government facility manager’s response was that he was unsure and to check the requirements documents.

E. Small electrical room below mechanical room:

1. Will not be able to use existing cable tray.

2. New breaker will likely have to be installed between existing breakers labeled Rm 143 FMS and Panel LP4.

F. General:

1. An Attendee wanted to confirm that the working hours mentioned in the specifications were the actual normal working hours and it was confirmed. The Government furnishing the escorts was also confirmed.

2. Lay down area to be determined by the Government.

3. An Attendee asked Government for pictures of the concrete slab in Test Area 109, and for the

Government to possibly remove one false floor shielding panel and take a picture.
