FA252124QB029- Sea Keeper 4

21 Feb 2024 Quesons and Answers
1. Aer a careful consideraon from the site visit, I would like to know if we can we transport the boat to our vendors' shop to do the work? That will save a lot of money on the proposal.
2. Does the installaon have to take place on base? or can the vessel be brought offsite for Seakeeper installaon?
3. Will the vessels be allowed to be moved by an approved insured transporter to the vendor installaon facility?
Answer: Yes, if vessels are transported to the contractor’s facility, installaon must occur one vessel at a me. The price of transportaon must be shown in your quote if applicable. The CLIN structure has been updated to reflect this
4. Are the vessels operated with the engines off at any me and if so, how long do you want the Seakeeper units to operate with the engines off?
Answer: Very rarely will we turn the engines off while using the Seakeeper.
5. Are engineering or Naval Architect drawings and schemacs required for the Seakeeper mounts, electrical, and plumbing? Reason for Request: Vendor will need to engage qualified naval architects for these drawings vs. in house drawings. We do have a qualified Naval Architect with experience regarding Seakeeper installaons. This is not typically done on this size vessel but is available.
Answer: No, we will rely on the successful awardee for this requirement
6. Will minor structural, cosmec, or access changes be allowed to facilitate the installaon? If so, will naval architect drawings be required or desired?
Example A: 36’ Munson- The recommended installaon locaon would be to modify the seat on the forward end of the console to allow the unit to be deck mounted inside of this space as an opon, OR larger hatch installed on centerline forward of the console so that the unit could be installed below deck on centerline.
Example B: 36’ Safeboat: Requested installaon locaon on the forward end of the console will require custom aluminum addions to the center console to house the unit. Alternave proposal would be to end the leaning post that holds the rear facing seats so that the unit could be housed parally within the exisng leaning post, plus and addion. The seats would be remounted to the extension in their current orientaon.
7. Can the vessel structure be modified to allow for installaon of Seakeeper 4.
Answer: Necessary modificaons to the vessel should be discussed in the quote response provided. Should unforeseen changes become necessary, these will be subject to negoaon and contract modificaon by the contracng officer.
8. Can you provide photos and specs of the boats to be equipped with the SeaKeepers?
9. Would you be able to provide any photos, specs, and/or drawings of the vessels that the
Seakeeper 4's will be installed in? This will be important in quoting the installation portion of this bid.
10. Please send more informaon as far as a spec sheet for the 2 vessels involved in this bid. Sea Keeper has never installed in either vessel. We need spec sheets so we can bid properly.
Answer: Photos have been posted with this queson-and-answer document.
11. Also, do these vessels have trailers or will they need to be transported on flatbed trailers?
Answer: They are both on trailers
12. I would like to ask if a site visit could be made as we have to look at available space, access to the space, does the structure need addional structure ed into the boat, what power is available as it may need upgraded, single or dual staon & access to run the control panel or can it be integrated into the current nav, etc.
Answer: Combined synopsis/solicitaon and site visit informaon were posted on SAM.gov prior to the site visit that took place on 14FEB24 at 10:00 AM E.S.T. The successful awardee may schedule a pre-transport site visit aer award if necessary.
13. Can 2 smaller SK2 Seakeepers be installed in lieu of 1 SK4 in the landing cra?
Answer: Contractors should submit their suggested soluon in accordance with the requirement as described. Contractors may submit addional quotes through separate submitals.
14. Wanted to know if you will be issuing a SF 1449 for Solicitaon: A252124QB029 Seakeeper?
Answer: A SF 1449 will be provided upon award to the selected contractor only.
