Solicitation Number: FA252119QB127 Answers to Vendor Questions

1. It states “electrical cabling” this means “low-voltage electrical cabling” correct?

Answer- Yes, the SOO has been revised accordingly.

2. It states “The AV Contractor shall install all cabling between hardware components per the industry standards and manufactures recommendations. At a minimum, all cabling shall be plenum rated.” So even if industry standards and manufacturer’s recommendations don’t call for plenum (which most don’t), we can only specify and use plenum cabling?

Answer- No, SOO has been changed to indicate that plenum rated cabling is only required where required by national codes or industry standard.

3. It states, “A wired touch panel at the table”, where will the table be located in the room in relation to the AV rack? And will a conduit be provided under the floor to allow for connection of a wired touch panel? The floor is concrete so a conduit would be required.

Answer- No conduit will be provided under the floor. The SOO has been updated to indicate the table is permanently attached to the wall by the kitchen. Government will provide power (4 outlets) for rack and will be responsible for taking down existing equipment.

4. It states “video call status”, what is this in reference to? I do not see any video conferencing equipment listed and would like to know what this signifies for scope.

Answer- No, this was a mistake- video call status will NOT be needed.

5. What sources will be connected to the system in this room?

Answer- 3 inputs are needed for a DVD player, laptop and an additional source as required. Additionally system must have capability to split and combine views on dual projectors, to be able to watch DVD movie or presentation across both projectors as one extended display, for example.

6. It states “The system will include the ability to provide high quality local briefings and presentations of all available sources in the native resolution of the projector (1080P or better), along with the monitor displays.” Besides the projector, are there additional monitor displays for this room?

Answer- No, no other monitor displays are required. Projectors should be 4K capable.

7. It states, “One (1) Short throw projector (HDMI)”. To confirm, only one (1) projector?

Answer- No, SOO has been changed to show 2 projectors are required. Projectors should be 4K capable.

8. What defines “Short Throw Projector?”

Answer- SOO has been updated to clarify meaning.

9. What size image or screen is to be provided

Answer- Approx 20’ total across. No screens are required.

10. Under Section, Audio System, it states “The audio system will require six to eight (6 to 8) ceiling speakers which will need to be powered by a power amplifier.” Which is easy enough. But later on in Section 8 (Basic Requirements List) subsection “e” it says “Reconnect existing speakers (6 to 8) in ceiling to amplifier in the A/V rack”. Are we to use new speakers or existing? And if existing, I assume we are not responsible for the existing if they are not functioning properly as we aren’t furnishing them, correct?

Answer- No, the audio system will require at least six (6) NEW ceiling speakers which will need to be powered by a power amplifier. SOO has been revised accordingly.

11. Under, Entryway Hallway, it states “Brightsign digital I/O player”, does the signage player specifically have to be from the manufacturer “Brightsign”?

Answer- No, other brands are acceptable.

12. Is cabling to be installed outside or inside walls?

Answer- Cabling should be inside wall and through the plenum space.

13. Will existing drawings/plans of the facility be provided after award?

Answer- The government will provide facility drawings/as builts after award.

14. Where will speakers be installed?

Answer- Only in the presentation/AV room.

15. Will the classrooms/computer room need any monitors or TVs?

Answer- No monitors or TVs in classrooms or computer room.
