PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
FOR
BUILDING 1470 ELEVATOR REPAIR/REPLACE
10 July 2018
PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS) FOR
VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT REPAIR
1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The Contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, parts, supervision and labor necessary to repair/replace the real property elevator, referred as vertical transportation equipment (VTE) for the remainder of the PWS, at Building 1470 on Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB) in a manner that will ensure continuous and safe operation.
1.1. This repair/replace contract will include the equipment/tools necessary to disassemble the existing motor and to hoist motor from roof and to hoist the new motor onto roof. The new motor will be a Hollister Whitney machine or equal and will include the following:
• 1-Traction machine with new disc brake and sheave (4K Lbs. Capacity and 200 FPM)
• 1- 25 HP Reuland AC Motor or equal
• 1- New encoder
• 1- Rope Gripper assembly with pumping unit
• Sheave cable guards
• 6- New 5/8” hoisting cables (old cables will not be re-used
• Machine isolation assembly to reduce vibration and noise
1.2. Contractor shall install a new MCE Motion 4000 AC Controller or equal. The controller shall be a microprocessor/solid state technology. Final limit switches will be installed inside the hoistway. Contractor shall provide new drawings to include wiring schematics.
1.3. All work performed will be conducted by certified elevator technicians. Contractor is to maintain a clean worksite and remove from the installation and properly dispose of any debris/trash created during this project.
1.4 Work conducted on VTE will be in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A17.1-2013 (or applicable code for year VTE put in service), Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators (ASME A17.1), ANSI/ASME A17.2-2014, Guide for Inspection of Elevators, Escalators, and Moving Walks (applicable to equipment), A17.3-2015, Safety Code for Existing Elevators and Escalators (applicable to equipment), National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-600-01, Fire Protection Engineering for Facilities, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards and the recommendations of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
