RFQ # F3YTAJ8199A1010

Questions and Answers The following questions have been asked by various interested parties. Answers have been provided by the end user.

1. Question - Based on the description, I’m envisioning a small rectangular room in a larger warehouse/bay area that has a blower at one end with a HEPA filter just in front of the intake that pulls air through the room. Is this accurate?

Answer - Please see attached drawing and pictures

2. Question - You specify the 5 HP motor. Is this a motor that you already have or you are specifying what the motor must be?

Answer – The 5 HP motor is based on what our end user believes is necessary to adequately power the booth. Booths do not have to have a 5 HP motor, as long as there is enough power to push air through the system.

3. Question - With regard to the overall description of this solicitation, with the use of the word “finishing”, we are wondering if any painting will be done in the new booth. If so there cannot be any air routed back into the facility. Please clarify.

Answer - There will be no coating atomization done in the booth. If any coatings are applied, the will only be applied using brushes or rollers using the booth more vent the air, not catch any coating.

4. Question - Please confirm the application for this booth, is it for grinding hex chrome primer off parts producing hex chrome dust?

Answer – The primary use of the booth will be for sanding/grinding aluminum, steel, and titanium aircraft parts that are coated with polyurethane topcoat, and epoxy primer containing hexavalent chromium. The booth will also be used for sanding and repairing aircraft fiberglass assemblies.

5. Question - Is the number of dust collectors specified for this bid?

Answer – The number of dust collectors is not specified. As long as the system can move the proper quantity of air.

6. Question - We typically recommend hanging strip curtain halfway down in front of the booth, is this acceptable for the bid?

Answer – This is acceptable

7. Question - I assume the booth must also come with dust proof light fixtures which is not called out in the bid spec?

Answer – The booth does require lighting fixtures to be installed.
