Questions

1) Does this unit need to comply with any particular industry (ANSI), federal or military standards?

Reply: Right now ANSI standard 92.2 and AFOSHSTD91-501

2) What are the towing requirements (maximum speed, type of surface, type of towing vehicle)?

Reply: The platform will be pretty much restricted to a local area which will be primarily test range conditions. If the area is not paved the speed probably will be 5-10mph. If the system for some reason or another has to be transported on commercial road probably at the most 50mph. It will be towed by a F-350 with the standard towing package. Most of the time the platform will be retracted and moved in and out of a building using the stand with attached wheel, see item 9.

3) In requirement number (24) what is meant by "safety-chain" on door? Is this a redundant system to hold the door closed by a chain. ?

Reply: It will be used as an additional safety device across the door opening. Not to hold the door closed

4) What is the required duty cycle for generator operation?

Reply; Continuous. Typically an 8 hr period or extended work day.

5) How many 110VAC outlets are required & what is the location of each?

Close to the floor, mid level or close to the ceiling. ? An outlet on all sides or just 2 on opposite sides ?

Reply: A total of 5 would be sufficient. Two on each of the long walls and one on the short side. They can be 16" from floor level but not above or within ~ 12" from the edge of the 12" openings. The short side can be located high close to the AC unit.

6) What is the required operating temperature range? We'll need to know the maximum ambient temperature in order to size an appropriate air conditioning system for the booth.

Reply: The system will be used in the Florida environment. Primarily daytime direct sun and high humidity. The instrumentation may be up to 2500 watts.

In addition there may up to two personnel. The temperature should be able to maintain between 65 to 75 deg F.

7) Can you please clarify what the mounting points in requirement number

(30) will be used for? This may have an effect on the load and wind calculations for the overall design of the unit.

Reply: The platform would also be used to elevate a 4x4 ft or at the most a

4x8 ft flat panel. The panel would be mounted on the poles "banner" style and extended above the roof. The lower edge of the panel would be at the roof line. The panel will typically be cloth, thin aluminum or 1/2 inch plywood with a thicker edge for rigidity.

8) Is the manual lowering system required in the booth and the base of the unit or just at the base of the unit?

Reply: Based on items 21 and 22 it would be booth and base.
