About this file
This is a compliance specification document for a state and local contract opportunity issued by the City of Boston Public Works Department for the procurement of one new 10,000 lb minimum capacity fork truck. The bid opening date is September 23, 2026. The specification document outlines detailed requirements that bidders must acknowledge through a yes/no compliance checklist, with 33 enumerated items covering equipment features, capabilities, and performance standards. Equipment must be new, of the latest production model, and delivered complete, serviced, and ready to operate to the City of Boston Central Fleet Management. Delivery date is identified as an important factor in award determination, and delivery arrangements must be scheduled in advance by calling 617-635-1281 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM).
The warranty structure requires full, no-cost, 100% parts and labor coverage with pickup and delivery included for any warranty repairs or factory recalls, to be performed by a manufacturer's authorized representative. Additionally, the awarded contractor must provide a three-year warranty on all allied equipment against faulty workmanship and materials. The specification requires that the City of Boston Central Fleet Management staff have the ability to perform warranty work and factory recalls in-house using certified technicians, with requirements and labor/parts reimbursement rates to be provided as part of the bid submission. Bidders must submit detailed manufacturer literature identifying each specification requirement by number and highlighted for ease of reference, and must provide written explanation for any items marked as non-compliant.
