About this file

This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) event invitation issued by the City of Englewood, Colorado for the demolition and replacement of Building 1 at the City of Englewood ServiCenter. The project involves the complete demolition and removal of an approximately 20-foot-wide by 65-foot-long by 20-foot-high prefabricated storage building, along with the installation of a like-for-like replacement structure. The existing building, currently used for historic vehicle storage, has experienced significant deterioration around its base and roof-supporting areas and is no longer suitable for continued use. The RFP was issued on October 1, 2026, with a questions deadline of October 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM (MT) and a response deadline of October 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM (MT). A recommended pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for October 15, 2026 at 9:00 AM (MT) at the City of Englewood ServiCenter, 2800 S Platte River Drive, Englewood, Colorado 80110, which is the only opportunity for contractors to view and field-verify the existing site. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to arrive at least ten minutes prior to the meeting start time to allow for parking, security, and sign-in procedures.

The RFP includes eight bid line items: demolition of Building 1, prefabricated building cost, installation of the new prefabricated building, permit fees and construction use tax, bond fee, and three supplemental services line items for additional services as needed. A 5% bid bond is required at submission, and the awarded contractor must furnish a Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% within ten days of Notice of Award. Bidders must provide detailed company information, contractor licensing details, relevant contract history, litigation history, and subcontracting plans. The replacement building shall include new electrical and lighting systems designed and installed in accordance with all current applicable electrical codes and standards. Contractors are responsible for all necessary demolition, removal, disposal, site preparation, and installation work, and must field-verify existing conditions rather than rely solely on dimensions, drawings, or photographs provided by the City.
