About this file

This document is a category definition for Engineering-Bridge/Structural Design services associated with the City of Pittsburgh's Invitation to Qualify for Various Professional Services, Phase 2 procurement. The scope of work encompasses comprehensive bridge and structural engineering services, including structural analyses and design of bridges, culverts, and related infrastructure. Services cover the full project lifecycle from conceptual design through final engineering, with tasks ranging from preparing cost estimates and bid documents to conducting structural analyses, bridge type studies, load ratings, and emergency inspections. Project elements include bridge structures, adjacent streets, pedestrian/bicycle facilities, safety and operational enhancements, utility investigations, and multi-modal traffic management.

The category definition outlines an extensive range of potential task orders that may involve reviewing structural analyses, conducting constructibility reviews, performing emergency inspections of bridges and culverts, evaluating electrical and mechanical systems, and providing program management and enhancement services. The broad scope suggests this is an open-ended contract allowing the City of Pittsburgh flexibility in deploying engineering expertise across various infrastructure projects.
