STATEMENT OF WORK

Supply all labor, material, rigging and transportation to renew the two (2) domestic refrigeration compressors and associated controls plus remove, retube and reinstall both condensers

Contractor is responsible for removal and reinstallation of all interferences. The amount of interference removal and the steps to remove and reinstall are the responsibility of the awarded contractor. Contractor must attend ship to observe this part of the job as contract descriptions are only an estimate of what is necessary to complete the job.

All direct refrigeration work shall be under the supervision of a licensed refrigeration technician with at least ten (10) years of experience on low-pressure and marine refrigeration equipment.

SERVICE AND TEST RUN SHIPS REFRIGERATION COMPRESSORS

and CHECK ASSOCIATED DOMESTIC REFRIGERATION BOXES

The compressors and associated equipment and controls once they are installed to be commissioned by a Technician who has the proper certification and a minimum of 10 years of experience installing and commissioning same type of equipment

• Make sure that the charge is correct in both compressors

• Make sure that both compressors and their related controls work properly and keep the domestic boxes with in range for a minimum of 24 hours for each compressor

• At the end of the service, keep one system on line and make sure that the boxes are at their proper temperature.

Note: If this work is being done close to the departure date for cruise April 23, 2017 then ship may be loading stores which could have an effect on the operation as the boxes air flow is affected by the loading of same

• Supply ship with spare filters for each machine

DELIVERABLES:

3 sets of manufacturer’s instruction books including information for parts ordering

Every compressor and unit must have setting data and readings so that the ship has a record of what is the normal settings in the event that they have a problem

List the total charge amount for each system in each system report

Supply spare parts as recommended by manufacturer – estimated costs = $25,000

Item No 2 – SR No 0301964 – Refrigeration and AC

SR No 0301964 REFRIGERATION AND AC

ABSTRACT

Refrigeration This item describes the operational check of two (2) Refrigeration units and the associated Domestic Refrigeration Boxes after Compressors are renewed under another contract (yet to be awarded)

AC

This item describes the annual service of two (2) stand alone AC units in the Forward Classroom and one (1) stand alone AC unit in the EOS (Engineering Operations Station). The AC Chillers will be changed out under another contract. The awarded contractor is CAMS (Contact Rob Terry)

ITEM LOCATION / DESCRIPTION

Location:

1) Refrigeration: 5-118-1 in 2nd deck and lower machinery space and associated fan rooms

2) AC Units -Forward Classrooms main deck with Condensers on Foredeck forward of house (one unit newly installed April 2016 by CAMS)

3) EOS AC unit – EOS room (newly installed in April 2016 by CAMS)

Description:

1) Inspect, run and leak check both AC Chillers under load.

2) Inspect, run and leak check both Forward AC units under load-

3) Inspect, run and leak check EOS AC unit-

STATEMENT OF WORK

Supply all labor, equipment and materials to perform the following repairs and modifications.

All direct refrigeration work shall be under the supervision of a licensed refrigeration technician with at least five (5) years of experience on low-pressure and marine refrigeration equipment.

SERVICE AND TEST RUN SHIPS REFRIGERATION COMPRESSORS

and CHECK ASSOCIATED DOMESTIC REFRIGERATION BOXES

The compressors and associated equipment will be renewed under another contract.

The awarded contractor for this job will have to work with the installing contractor to make sure that the operation and settings of the new domestic compressors are correct to keep the domestic boxes at their proper set points

• Make sure that the charge is correct in both compressors

• Make sure that both compressors and their related controls work properly and keep the domestic boxes with in range for a minimum of 24 hours for each compressor

• At the end of the service, keep one system on line and make sure that the boxes are at their proper temperature.

Note: If this work is being done cost to the departure date for cruise April 23, 2017 then ship may be loading stores which could have an effect on the operation as the boxes air flow is affected by the loading of same

• Supply ship with spare filters for each machine

SERVICE AND TEST RUN SHIPS Two (2) AC CHILLERS- R134a

The awarded contractor for this job will have to work with the installing contractor (CAMS – POC Rob Terry) for the test running of the AC Chillers and associated fan rooms. The goal is to make sure that the machines are 100% ready for cruise and that both machines operate as per design and keep the HVAC as cool as possible

• Make sure that the charge is correct in both units

• Make sure that both compressors on each unit operate as per design for a minimum of 24 hours

• At the end of the service, keep one system on line and make sure that all

Systems are operational and providing the right temperature to the individual spaces as per design

• Chief Engineer must approve all compressor operation and be satisfied with the controls and turndown (this should be approved during installation however this service check must also prove the reliability for cruise)

SERVICE AND TEST RUN THE AC STAND ALONE UNITS

Fwd AC Units – Green Deck Class Room – R410 Refrigerant Perform Manufacturer’s maintenance on each unit to include but not be limited to:

• Condenser units on deck above- Clean to make sure that there is proper air flow

• Fan and Evaporator and filters in cabinets in class room- Very poor design of the

Evaporator to hold an air filter in place. There have been problems with the filter being lost or missing. Check to make sure filters are in place and properly fitted.

Provide two (2) each spare filters for the evaporators

• Check both mechanical and electrical conditions including gas charge and filter-driers. Make sure that the charge is correct as the new unit was overcharged when it was installed in 2016

• One of the units was renewed in April 2016 by CAMS – POC Rob Terry- some parts of this unit should be under warranty from that installation.

• Make sure that ship is set up with proper recovery and charging bottles and test gages and hoses with proper fittings

• Run under load for a minimum of 24 hours and have operation approved by Chief Engineer

• Check all controls for proper operation and document same and submit as a delivery item

EOS – AC Unit –R134A Refrigerant This unit was renewed in April 2016 by CAMS (POC – Rob Terry). Some parts of this should still be under warranty from that installation

• Make sure that the charge is correct. If necessary remove and weight it as it was overcharged when it was commissioned in April 2016

• Change or clean all air filters

• Check all the controls for proper operation and document same and submit as a delivery item

DELIVERABLES:

Annual report of repairs completed in hard copy and electronic copy format

Every compressor and unit must have setting data and readings so that the ship has a record of what is the normal settings in the event that they have a problem

List the total charge amount for each system in each system report

Refrigeration testing equipment if ship’s equipment is not correct

ADDITIONAL WORK AND SUPPLEMENTARY

Contractor to submit a written Condition Found report (CFR) to the COTR for any additional work outside the contract. Approval for additional work must be approved by either the COTR ($5000 or less) or the Contracting Officer (over $5000)
