About this file

This is Addendum Number One to the contract documents for the District-Wide Improvement Projects - Phase II for the Hattiesburg Public School District in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, issued by WELCON Electrical Consultants, PLLC on January 27, 2026. The addendum addresses sports field lighting improvements for football and baseball facilities across multiple campuses, clarifying lighting specifications, fixture requirements, and design criteria. Key specifications include football field lighting at 50 footcandles average with uniformity requirements, baseball infield/outfield lighting at 25 footcandles, football bleacher lighting at 20 footcandles with a 3:1 Max/Min ratio, track lighting at 25 footcandles with 15:1 uniformity, entry way lighting at 10 footcandles with 15:1 uniformity, and baseball bullpens lighting at 20 footcandles with 5:1 uniformity. The addendum clarifies that fixture quantities shown on drawings represent the basis of design, and contractors must add additional fixtures as necessary to achieve specified lighting levels while maintaining uniformity standards as closely as possible. Spill light boundary lines are defined as 100 feet away from each pole location around the perimeter of each field or track.

The addendum designates Geo Sportslighting and Techline Sportslighting as acceptable manufacturers for bidding purposes, though vendors may propose equal alternatives if they meet all specification requirements. All vendors and contractors must hold valid Mississippi licenses for selling and/or installing products, provide a 25-year warranty covering parts, shipping, and labor, maintain delivery schedules to meet construction timelines, provide performance guarantees, and demonstrate references in Mississippi. The addendum emphasizes that any contractor submitting proposed products that fail to meet lighting level, glare control, or light spill requirements will be responsible for including additional fixtures or components at no additional compensation. Specific drawing revisions are noted for Sheet E4, including labeling of the right field pole as "C2," deletion of conduit between poles "C2" and "D2," and removal of an incorrect reference to note #5.

January 27, 2026 ADDENDUM NUMBER ONE (1)

PROJECT: DISTRICT - WIDE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS – PHASE II

MULTIPLE CAMPUSES

THE HATTIESBURG PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI

SPORTS FIELD LIGHTING – FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL

WEC P/N: 25-MCK-02

FROM: WELCON Electrical Consultants, PLLC

The following additions, changes, clarifications and/or substitutions as indicated, are hereby made a part of the Contract Documents. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by inserting its number and date in the Proposal Form where indicated.

Questions from Contractors:

1. The specification has both light levels and uniformity requirements for the baseball infield/outfield and the football field. The plans also have footnotes of baseball bullpens lighting, bleacher lighting, entry way and track lighting with no uniformity requirements. Can you provide for each?

ANSWER:

a. Football bleacher lighting shall be 20FC average with Max/Min 3:1

b. Track lighting shall be 25FC average with Max/Min 15:1

c. Entry way lighting shall be 10FC average with Max/Min 15:1

d. Baseball bullpens lighting shall be 20FC average with Max/Min 5:1

2. I’m not sure even with the specified fixture quantities that 50fc on the football field and 25fc around the entire track would be achievable unless there was no uniformity requirement?

ANSWER: Footcandle levels shall be as specified in the contract documents or as part of this addendum. Fixture quantities noted on drawings are for basis of design. If additional fixtures are required to meet lighting level requirements, those fixtures need to be added as necessary. Uniformities shall be maintained as close as possible, but are equally as important as lighting levels.

3. The spec calls for spill light at a “specified boundary line”, that is not noted on any of the plans. I would need to know where the spill needs shown.

ANSWER: For the purpose of design criteria the boundary lines for spill light shall be at 100’ away from each pole location around the perimeter of each field or the track.
