About this file
This is a Design-Build (DB) Services document issued by Miami International Airport (MIA) for the Central & South Terminals Baggage Handling System (BHS) Make-Up Units project. The project scope encompasses the design and construction of baggage handling system make-up units at the airport's Central and South Terminals. The document establishes the contractual framework, technical requirements, and performance standards for the selected design-build contractor. Key project milestones, deliverables, and submission requirements are detailed throughout the specification to ensure the contractor meets the airport's operational and safety standards for baggage handling infrastructure.
The design-build services contract requires the selected contractor to develop comprehensive design plans and execute construction activities in compliance with Miami International Airport standards, FAA regulations, and applicable local building codes. The contractor must coordinate with existing terminal operations while minimizing disruption to airport functionality. The document specifies technical performance criteria, equipment compatibility requirements with existing BHS infrastructure, and quality assurance protocols. All work must be completed in accordance with the project schedule, with specific attention to integration with current baggage handling operations and adherence to safety protocols throughout the design and construction phases.
