Responses from L. Hamanaka, Project Manager TECTONICS Architects/Planners/Engineers:

1) Provide the metal panels as specified. The required R-values will be provided by the interior furring and batt insulation.

2) Galvanized framing is not specified nor required.

3) Tapered columns are specified in Specification Section 133419, Metal Building Systems, Para.

2.4.D.4.

4) Yes. See FAR 52.225-9 in the Solicitation.

5) Yes, see attached.

6) Yes, per Specification Section 015639, Temporary Tree and Plant Protection.

7) Per contract documents, Contractor shall conform to the California Building Code and all other applicable codes and regulations. The project is not subject to the UC Davis Design and Construction Management (DCM) Campus Design Guide or standards and UC Davis inspectors will not be involved in this project. Third-party inspectors will perform required inspections per contract documents and will sign off on the no-fee green card to be provided by DCM.

8) Contractor’s staging area is anticipated to be generally located in the area shown on the attached location map.

9) No. Per the attached geotechnical report, groundwater was encountered at 35.5 ft. and 38 ft.

10) LEED certification is not anticipated to be required but the Contractor shall follow all sustainable practice requirements identified in the contract documents, including in individual specification sections. In particular, see Sections 017419 and 018113.
