This document is an Interagency Service Agreement (ISA) Amendment between the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and the University of Arizona, specifically involving the Center for Toxicology, Pharmacology, Education and Research (CTPER). The amendment is related to a federally funded cooperative agreement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), focusing on public health emergency response and addressing COVID-19 related health disparities.
The contract establishes a statewide rural transfer center for hospitals, with a total contract value of $2,108,000 for the period of July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. Key services include piloting a patient transfer system, hosting quarterly statewide meetings, preparing protocols for an Arizona Surge Line, and providing 24/7 coverage with a minimum of 10 full-time employees. The budget covers various components such as software ($250,000), phone systems ($30,000), staffing ($850,000), equipment and supplies ($30,000), and rented space ($40,000), with a 10% indirect cost rate. The contract is an extension through June 30, 2024, and is funded under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to support healthcare system preparedness and address health disparities in rural and underserved communities.
