This cooperative agreement is formally known as the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (NCCCP);

1.2. The National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (NCCCP) was established in 1998 to support the creation of coalitions and networks that develop and implement cancer control plans across the cancer continuum;

1.3. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Arizona, accounting for 20.8% of all deaths. In 2019 there were 33,165 Arizonans diagnosed with invasive cancer. The incidence of invasive cancer cases has increased 3.2% from 32,128 cases (2015) to 33,165 cases (2019). The Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (AZCCCP) works to meet the national priorities of primary prevention, early detection and screening, and health and wellbeing of cancer survivors, by working with and through other programs within ADHS and by convening the Arizona Cancer Coalition; and

1.4. The Arizona Cancer Coalition (ACC) is a multifaceted body of individuals and organizations working together to raise awareness around cancer prevention via evidence-based interventions (EBIs) and supporting strategies. Programming for this project will focus on these populations. Through a series of in person workshops the UACOE will utilize the latest evidence based best practices to educate participants to effect change in the area of survivorship.
