Visitor, Contractor, and Meeting Vaccination FAQs based on COVID-19 Community Level As of March 30, 2022
Do official visitors need to provide information regarding their vaccination status when entering DOI-controlled buildings?
It depends.
Official visitors are required to provide information about vaccination status whenever the DOI facility is located in a county where the COVID-19 Community Level is MEDIUM or HIGH. In such cases, visitors must complete and sign a Certification of Vaccination form (OMB Control No. 3206-0277) and keep it with them during their time onsite. Visitors may be asked to show the form upon entry and when requested to validate their vaccination status. If the visitor is not fully vaccinated or declines to provide their vaccination status, they should be required to show a negative COVID-19 test result from within the previous three (3) days and must follow the safety protocols for individuals not fully vaccinated, as described in the DOI COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plan. This requirement does NOT apply to members of the public who visit a DOI-controlled facility or DOI-controlled lands to obtain a public service or benefit, such as recreational visitors to a National Park or tribal members obtaining a public service or benefit.
Do onsite contractors need to provide information regarding their vaccination status when entering DOI-controlled buildings?
It depends.
Onsite contractor employees are required to provide information about vaccination status whenever the DOI facility is located in a county where the COVID-19 Community Level is MEDIUM or HIGH. In such cases, they must complete and sign a Certification of Vaccination form (OMB Control No. 3206-0277) and keep it with them during their time onsite. Contract employees may be asked to show the form upon entry and when requested to validate their vaccination status. If not fully vaccinated or if they decline to provide their vaccination status, contract employees should be required to show a negative COVID-19 test result from within the previous three (3) days and must follow the safety protocols for individuals not fully vaccinated, as described in the DOI COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plan. If a contractor employee is regularly tested pursuant to screening testing program as outlined in an approved contract or agreement, then they may not need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test from within the previous three (3) days based on direction from their Contracting Officer.
