Subtask 2a: Entrance Road Conceptual Plans

Description: G&A will create schematic plans for entrance area improvements to Weeki Wachee State

Park. Two (2) schematic designs for the entrance area remodel will be created. One Conceptual plan show a modification of the existing ingress/egress to the park off U.S. 19/Commercial Way near the visitor entrance; the second Conceptual plan will show shifting the main park entrance approximately

3,250’ south of the existing entrance to the intersection of U.S. 19 and Northcliffe Boulevard.

Consideration for separating vehicle traffic for regular park visitors and kayak rentals visitors shall be considered for both conceptual plans.

The conceptual plan to improve the existing ingress/egress will focus on alleviating the congestion at the existing driveway entrance during peak park usage as well as when the park closes due to reaching capacity. The conceptual plan will propose to utilize the existing driveway and parking area extents to get visitors safely and efficiently in and out of the parking area during all times.

The other conceptual plan shall propose a new primary entrance at the U.S. 19 and Northcliffe

Boulevard intersection, with a new access road through the existing fire break parallel to U.S. 19.

Reconfiguration of the existing parking area, as required for each conceptual plan, will be depicted.
