PROPOSAL SUMMARY – Attachment 1 dated 1/9/15

Shoreline Stabilization Project Three Rivers State Park

Sneads, Jackson County, Florida Design, Permitting, and

Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the engineering services for the Design, Permitting and Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications for the proposed “Three Rivers State Park Shoreline Stabilization Project” [PROJECT] located within the Three Rivers State Park along the southwestern shoreline of Lake Seminole, Jackson County, Florida. The existing shoreline stabilization (approximately 150 feet) consists of a shallow foundation concrete structure of which approximately 50 feet has become undermined. Based on a site visit conducted on December 3, 2014, there has been a relatively large loss of soils from under and behind the structure. It appears this is due to a one to two foot gap between the bottom of the structure and the lake bottom allowing waves and wakes to penetrate under the structure and erode the soils. The purpose of this PROJECT is to stabilize the existing structure and shoreline.

MRD ASSOCIATES, INC. (MRD) will perform the following TASKs for the STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION [aka Department] DIVISION OF

RECREATION AND PARKS (DRP), BUREAU OF DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION (BDC):

Task 1 – Design, and Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications

Description: MRD shall provide the following services:

The challenge will be to develop an inexpensive method to fully support the existing structure from underneath. Prepare a preliminary opinion of probable construction costs;

2. Submit the conceptual design sketches to the Department for review and comment;

3. Meet with the Department to discuss the conceptual design;

The TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS will be incorporated in the CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS. The CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS will be prepared according to the Bureau of Design and Construction DRAFTING STANDARDS;
