About this file
This clarification amendments document pertains to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) herbicide spray contract for the Perdido River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Tract in fiscal year 2026. The project involves the application of herbicide to eliminate cogon grass patches across designated acreage within the management area. Herbicide must be applied at a minimum of five feet beyond the outer perimeter of each cogon grass patch to ensure complete eradication. Work for 2026 will conclude on October 15th, 2026, with operations resuming in 2027 when the growing season recommences. The actual acreage to be treated will be determined based on pricing, budget availability, and operational timing.
Contractors must submit bids on a per-acre basis, with pricing required to encompass all costs associated with the herbicide application treatment as specified in the solicitation documents. Allowable costs include travel expenses, labor, patrol activities regardless of methodology, equipment mobilization, herbicide chemicals, and any additional expenses necessary to identify and spray cogon grass patches within each acre. The contractor will receive compensation at the designated per-acre rate for all requested and treated acreage. A purchase order will be issued as soon as practicable following contract award.
