City of Dunwoody 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Rd.

Dunwoody, GA 30338

Questions Due By: June 12, 2026

1. Purpose

The City of Dunwoody is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified playground vendors/contractors to provide turnkey services for the design, procurement, furnishing, delivery, and installation of new playground equipment and associated site improvements for the hillside area adjacent to the multi-use fields at Brook Run Park, 4770 N. Peachtree Rd., Dunwoody, Georgia.

The purpose of this project is to obtain a complete, code-compliant, safe, durable, and maintainable playground solution appropriate for a hillside site and suitable for public use. The selected proposer shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, design services, construction-ready documents, permitting coordination as required, and installation necessary to deliver a complete and operational playground project.

The total available project budget is $40,000.

2. Project Background

Brook Run Park is a major public park facility serving residents and visitors of the City of Dunwoody and includes active recreation amenities that support frequent youth and family use. The project area is located adjacent to the multi-use fields, where families, players, and spectators regularly gather for games, practices, and other organized activities.

The City intends to improve the hillside area near the multi-use fields by adding new playground equipment and associated site improvements that are appropriate for the terrain, safe for public use, durable, maintainable, and compatible with the surrounding park setting.

A key purpose of this project is to create a play opportunity that supports family use of the park and activates the area around the athletic fields. The proposed playground should provide meaningful engagement for children who are at the park before, during, or after sports games and practices. The City also intends for the playground to serve siblings and other accompanying children who may not be participating directly in field activities but remain on site during games, practices, and related park visits.

The selected proposer should consider how the playground can function as a complementary amenity to the adjacent athletic complex by providing age-appropriate, visible, safe, and durable play opportunities that encourage short-duration and repeat use. The design should support casual family recreation, allow for easy supervision by parents and caregivers, and fit appropriately within the operational setting of an active multi-use field environment.

Because the playground will serve children in a field-adjacent setting, the City encourages design solutions that emphasize quick-access play value, visibility from spectator areas, ease of supervision, and durable components suitable for frequent short-interval use.

The selected playground vendor shall coordinate with the City’s Parks and Recreation project team throughout design, procurement, delivery, and installation to ensure all work is scheduled, phased, and completed in alignment with the overall construction schedule.

3. Site Location

Project Site Address: Brook Run Park, 4770 N. Peachtree Rd., Dunwoody, GA 30338.

The project area is the hillside adjacent to the existing multi-use fields within Brook Run Park.

Proposers shall field-verify all existing conditions, dimensions, grades, access constraints, and installation conditions prior to final design and construction.

The City will attach a site exhibit for reference as Exhibit A – Site Location Map and Existing Site Area.

4. Target Age Groups

The proposed playground shall primarily serve children ages 5–12 years.

Proposers may include limited integrated play value for children ages 2–5 years if achievable within the project budget and site constraints. If the proposer recommends a different age allocation based on site conditions, budget, safety clearances, or layout efficiency, the proposer shall clearly identify and justify that recommendation in the proposal.

5. Budget

The City’s total available project budget for this project is $40,000. This amount is intended to cover the full cost of design, renderings, construction-ready documents, procurement, delivery, installation, site preparation, cleanup, closeout, and all other work necessary for a complete project unless specifically excluded by the City in writing.

Base proposals shall provide a complete, functional playground project within this budget. Additive or deductive alternatives may be included separately.

6. Scope Of Services

The selected proposer shall provide turnkey services including, but not limited to, the following:

• Procure and furnish all playground equipment, hardware, anchors, footings, surfacing, borders, and related materials necessary for a complete installation.

• Coordinate manufacturing, lead times, delivery, staging, and supplier management.
