About this file
This document is a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (J&A) for Federal Prison Industries (FPI) to acquire 10zig Zero Client devices. FPI requires 1,000 secure, manageable inmate devices with a stateless design that lacks local storage and eliminates potential security risks. The devices will replace end-of-life terminal server access devices, with key benefits including enhanced security through firmware-based operation, simplified management, and cost-effectiveness. The procurement was conducted through a GSA Schedule reverse auction on Unison Marketplace, which yielded 10 bids from small business GSA Schedule holders.
The total contract value is $358,380.00, with a per-unit price of $358.38 after competitive bidding (compared to the original GSA price list of $371.28 per unit). The acquisition specifically targets 10zig Zero Client devices due to their unique security features, particularly the ability to avoid management software from unauthorized foreign countries. The document includes approvals from multiple levels of DOJ procurement leadership, with digital signatures dated April and June 2025, indicating the contract is planned for award on June 13, 2025, under solicitation number 15USCH25F00000171.
