About this file
This document is a Draft Request for Information (RFI) from the Library of Congress seeking market research for a specialized book cradle system for digitization of collections materials. The Library requires a book cradle with specific technical specifications, including the ability to support books up to 24x32 inches when opened flat, accommodate various book sizes and thicknesses, and be compatible with Digital Transitions "Auto-Column" or Cambo RPS columns.
The RFI requests potential vendors provide capability statements, including physical device dimensions, safety certifications, and willingness to conduct a no-cost demonstration. The contractor must offer a manufacturer warranty (base year plus three additional years), provide manufacturer-authorized parts, factory-authorized technicians for installation, and support services including on-site repairs within 72 hours and unlimited telephone/email consultations. The RFI emphasizes this is voluntary market research, not an official solicitation, and no contract will be awarded as a result of this research. Interested vendors are encouraged to submit feedback, capability statements, and rough pricing estimates to the Library of Congress.
