Salient Characteristics for a Alkalinity Analyzer
1. Mode: automated open cell Gran titration
2. Typical sample consumption range: 10 – 25 mL per analysis
3. Time consumption per sample: 7 – 10 minutes
4. Precision: better than ± 0.1% or ±1- 2 μM for seawater
5. Work environment: shipboard or land-based laboratory
6. Power requirement: 100 – 240 VAC 7. Size: 11” H × 9” D × 12” W
7. Communication: RS 232, USB
· AS-ALK3 total alkalinity titrator consists of two high precision digital pumps (adjustable from 1 to 25 mL) for precise delivery of reagent and sample solutions
· These pumps only used for this model (no other manufacturers)
· Uses research grade pH meter/electrode
· Automates gran titration method
· Compatible with samples from fresh to salt water, groundwater and porewater
· Built and tested for shipboard use
· More user friendly than other instruments
· Reduces user error by automation
· More accurate than manual way with an acceptable error of 5%
· Method utilizing this instrument are widely accepted in the ocean acidification community
· Reduces total volume of sample needed from ~100mL to 25mL allowing for less samples to be collected and/or more replications to be performed with same volume
