140G0123Q0156 Amendment 1 Q&A
1. Is the Government requesting exclusively the AS-ALK3 Model?
Answer: No brand name or equal.
2. For the gran titration method, how is the end point being calculated?
Answer: The gran titration method allows for multiple end points to be calculated depending on constituent of interest and does not rely on inflection points. Data along the titration curve are utilized with linear functions that describe different parts of the titration curve to determine each end point (bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide). Initial volume sample, volume of titrant, acid normality, activity coefficient of H+, and dissociation constants are utilized with Gran functions. This method works best when titrations are carried out to a pH of 3.5 or less.
