Salient Characteristics-
The Wetland and Aquatic Research Center currently owns a custom designed hull fabricated to meet the needs of working in wetland vegetation in coastal Louisiana. This boat is the primary means of accessing research sites as required by reimbursable contracts. The boat’s engine has met end of life and needs to be replaced into the existing hull. We are requiring a new engine to maintain personnel safety and existing work deliverable schedule. A Pleasure Craft Marine Levitator LSX 7.4L 525 hp marine engine with fuel injection is required with associated parts and labor as described below.
The aluminum hull is 16 feet long and 8 feet wide with a grass rake on the bow of the boat. The hull has an existing motor stand made of 1” by 1” 16-gauge steel tubing with fastener placement to accept the Pleasurecraft Marine Levitator 7.4L 525hp LSX Marine EFI engine. The existing gear box and cage are also fabricated such that they will receive a Sensenich 4 blade R-Series composite propeller and Meziere One-Piece Billet Fly Wheel without retooling or additional fabrication of existing structural or electronic components of the airboat.
Labor:
• Labor will be required to remove the existing airboat engine, drive unit, propeller and accessories
• Labor will be required to install the drive unit, propeller, and accessories onto the new engine
• Labor will be required to install the new engine and propeller into the airboat using the existing engine mount, radiator, and electronic wiring.
New Engine Replacement:
• Pleasurecraft Marine Levitator 7.4L 525hp LSX Marine EFI engine
• Sensenich 4 blade R-Series composite propeller, 80 inch, left-hand rotation
• Meziere One-Piece Billet Fly Wheel for LS Engines with 8 bolt Crank
• Long tube stainless steel headers for GM LS Engines (1-3/4 x 3)
• Levitator Thermostat 6.0, LS & LSA
• U-shaped Loop at Thermostat Housing
1. The airboat shall be fully operational upon delivery.
Operational airboat needed 90 days after receipt of purchase order.
