STATEMENT OF WORK

ZION NATIONAL PARK

October 20, 2020

I. INTRODUCTION:

The National Park Service has a requirement for propane to be delivered to Zion National Park to be used for the Park’s shuttle bus service. This is a supply requirement for ongoing supply of propane. Approximate annual requirement is 300,000 gallons. The requirement will be to furnish all labor, protective equipment, materials, loading, hauling, unloading, and equipment to provide propane to the existing 30,000 gallon propane tank at the Zion National Park Bus Maintenance Facility.

II. BACKGROUND:

Zion National Park provides shuttle service to millions of visitors each year. The shuttle fleet used to transport visitors is powered by propane. It is desirable to keep the tank levels between 7,000 and 21,000 gallons, so that there is not risk of running out of propane for buses and to allow room for expansion in the tank during hot days, respectively. In the past, a typical load of propane has been 10,000 gallons to 14,000 gallons. When buses are operating in peak season (May – September) approximately 1,000 gallons a day can be consumed. Less propane is consumed at other times of the year. Propane consumption has been 250,000 – 300,000 gallons annually for the last several years.
