Building 8510 Carpet Tile System Salient Characteristics
MINIMUM REQUIRED SPECIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS
1) Proposed product/system shall comply with and demonstrate compliance with all Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines.
2) Construction will be a Tufted, Textured Loop, containing a Solution Dyed Nylon type 6 (ECONYL) with a face weight 15/oz. /yd. and a gauge of 1/12, Stitches per inch will be 10.4 and the Tufts 124/in sq. The finished pile height will have a height of .13”and the finished Pile Thickness of 0.092”. And will have an average density of (finished) 6,691.
3) Proposed product/system shall comply with all applicable accessibility standards as outlined in the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, as well as all accessibility standards as mandated in the most current International Building Code (IBC)
4) Carpet shall contain high quality, type 6-solution dyed yarn with anti-microbial properties; contractor shall provide a suggested pattern/color but final carpet color shall be selected by government once effort is awarded; contractor shall be prepared to provide a standard “abstract” pattern with a dominant blue color and multiple sub-colors to minimize appearance of staining/dirt.
-Embodied Carbon 7.57 (kg Co2 e)/M2 -Nominal Total Thickness 0.42” (10.7 mm).
-Nominal Total Weight 92.1 oz. /yd. (3,123 g/m2) -Flammability (Radiant Panel AT or ASTM-E-662 ASTM –E-648) -Smoke Density (NFPA-258-T or ASTM-E-662) < 450 -Lightfastness (AATCC 16E) > 4.0 at 80 Hours.
-Crocking (AATCC 165) > 4.0 Wet or Dry -Static Electricity (AATCC-134)20% R>H>, 70 degrees F. < 3.5 KV, Permanent Conductive Fiber.
-Texture Appearance Retention Rating (TARR) Heavy traffic End-Use Applications -Recommended Maintenance MilliCare x Textile and Carpet Care Service Network -Indoor Air Quality CRI Green Label Plus TM/ GLP7205, Carpet Category 13X
5) Carpet shall have an integral moisture barrier system.
Carpet tile will have Methenamine Pill test (CPSC FF-1-70 or ASTM D 2859) Self -extinguishing.
6) Carpet shall be a 19.7” x 19.7” carpet tile product, installation shall be quarter turned with an attached cushion.
7) All materials and adhesives used shall be CRI Green Label Plus certified/approved and contain no volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). Backing will be PVC –Free WellBAC TM Comfort Cushion available with traction back. Backing is standard: 47.8% Pre-Consumer, 8.2%Post-consumer NSF 140 Platinum Backing Option: 36.8% Pre-Consumer-19.2% Post Consumer.
8) Proposed product/system shall be installed using factory trained/certified craftsmen.
9) Recycled materials may be used if certified/shown to be of equal quality as virgin materials.
10) Warranty Requirements
a) Contractor is to provide and comply with manufacturer warranty standards for installation. Contractor shall indicate if product manufacturer(s) requires on site factory representation during installation, either through physical inspection/oversight or current factory certification of installers and, if so, shall indicate how provision for factory representation is to be provided to maintain warranty requirements. Contractor is to provide proposed warranty information and a narrative detailing their proposed compliance with manufacturer installation requirements.
b) Contractor is to provide a one (1) year warranty covering the following:
i) Attached cushion shall provide full labor/material warranty against cracking, shattering or deterioration under normal and proper use and shall be free from defects in material and workmanship.
ii) Carpet shall provide full labor/material warranty against delamination of backing, edge ravel and integrity of tuft binding.
iii) Proposed carpet shall be provided with stain resistant treatment as recommended by manufacturer.
iv) Carpet shall resist matting and crushing with a minimum texture rating of 3.0.
v) All carpet shall meet or exceed colorfastness standard with a minimum rating of 4 (AATCC 16-E-2010, Colorfastness to Light, and AATCC 165, Colorfastness to Crocking)
