Statement of Work For
FTQW 21-2002
Automatic Nitrogen Purge Valve Installation
1. BACKGROUND – Building 3129 was renovated in 2018-2019, prior to which the facility had no fire suppression system. The majority of the building is serviced by a wet pipe fire suppression system, however there is a Potter nitrogen dry pipe sub-system which services the Aircrew Flight Equipment bay area. What appears to be a Potter NGP-SPV was installed as part of this project. A recent change in the Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) 3- 601-02, as interpreted by the Pacific Air Forces Fire Protection Engineer, requires an automatic purge valve to be installed on nitrogen dry pipe systems.
2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK – Furnish all labor, materials, parts, transportation, tools, equipment, and facilities necessary to perform work required to complete project FTQW 21-2002 in accordance with this Statement of Work (SOW) and associated contract documents. The fire system shall only be taken out of service during normal duty hours and it is not allowed to be down overnight. The fire department shall be notified when work commences and concludes each day. The fire department may be contacted at 907-377-3204.
