About this file
This document is a Preconstruction Risk Assessment and Exposure Control Checklist for a federal contract opportunity to modernize existing A wing and D wing elevators at a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facility. The key details are:
The scope of work includes modernizing the control systems, electrical wiring, door equipment, operating fixtures, elevator hoisting machines, and complete replacement of the blood work dumbwaiter elevator. Potential hazards and mitigation measures are addressed, such as asbestos, lead-based paint, confined spaces, dust, fire and smoke, moisture/water leaks/mold, vapors/fumes, noise, vibration, air pressure relationships, electrical modifications, crane operations, traffic flow, and proximity to immune-suppressed patients. An ICRA assessment designated the work as Class II/IV, and ILSM requirements were identified. The contract opportunity number is 36C25025B0003, with a project number of 583-22-101 and an expected completion date of 01/02/2024.
