STATEMENT OF WORK
For
Juno Tower Replacement
1.0 Scope of Work
The purpose of this statement of work includes obtaining design-build services under a single procurement for the replacement of the Tactical Communications (TACCOM) 250’ guyed tower in Uvalde, TX (Juno) (Latitude 30.1426, Longitude -101.3146). The proposed replacement would be a 260’ guyed tower (10’ taller than the existing tower). It is anticipated that the new tower will be located 15-20 feet northwest of the existing tower and will be constructed prior to the existing tower coming down. The technology currently in service on the existing tower will be transferred to the new tower and tested in accordance with applicable standards. Installations will meet the requirements defined below and maintain satisfactory operability of communications equipment. Currently on the site, there is an abandoned 4 x 4 shelter and propane tank that will need to be removed and disposed of as a result of this effort. During the site condition assessment, the contractor will be required to perform a site survey, geotechnical investigation, and data collection to facilitate production of a construction package for the site. Contractor will not have on demand access to the tower site and should plan for a single site visit to complete all necessary data reconnaissance for the project. Site survey will be used for the purpose of developing a scope for the construction package that will be used to complete the replacement of the tower system and infrastructure of the existing owned or leased Customs and Border Protection (CBP) properties for the Juno tower site. The construction package must show the proposed site layout and any recommendations based upon information gathered to replace the tower. The construction package must be signed, sealed and dated by a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
The contractor will provide labor, travel, permits/application fees, mobilization costs and tools for technicians to travel to Uvalde, TX to replace the Juno tower as described in this SOW. A site condition assessment may be required to gather information to complete an assessment for the tower and adjacent facilities located in Uvalde, TX. During the site condition assessment, a site survey, geotechnical investigation and data collection may be required to facilitate the tower and infrastructure replacement as outlined in this SOW. The site survey will be used for the purpose of developing any additions or deletions to this scope associated with the replacement of the tower and infrastructure of the existing owned or leased Customs and Border Protection (CBP) properties for the Juno site.
