Attachment J-7 Climate Risk Screening for Public Accountability and Justice Strengthening activity - 12/3/2020

Climate Risks List key risks related to the defined/illustrative interventions identified in the screening and additional assessment.

How Risks are Addressed Describe how risks have been addressed in activity design and/or additional steps that will be taken in implementation. If you choose to accept the risk, briefly explain why.

Opportunities to Strengthen Climate Resilience Describe any opportunities to achieve multiple development objectives by integrating climate resilience or mitigation measures

Activities related to capacity building, technical assistance, trainings, workshops, and awareness sessions including printing of material and publications

Extreme weather conditions, Increase in temperatures, Flash Floods may negatively impact the ability to access rural and remote areas. As well as it will impact the attendance to sessions and the ability to deliver those sessions especially in rural and remote areas.

Low Advise the implementing partner on possible climate risks and the possible impact of extreme weather conditions.

The IP is advised to consider seasonal forecasts and rainy seasons when planning for training or similar activities and use contingency planning and consider virtual training as options.

Procurement of IT equipment, IT software and solutions, furniture, and automobile

Extreme weather conditions, Increase in temperatures, flash floods, heat waves may impose risk on the delivery of procured items and on the functioning of some sensitive IT equipment

Moderate The IP is required to screen for activity and site specific climate risks using the CRM tool and integrate necessary actions to mitigate risks; e.g. building insulation, rainwater drainage system, etc.

The IP should report actions as part of the Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plan (EMMP).

For awareness, discuss climate risks with stakeholders when possible.

Apply green building standards if possible. Consider installing energy saving equipment and devices, PV systems, etc.
