NOISE: Noise emitted by each unit delivered in compliance with these specifications shall comply with all California and Federal laws or regulations pertaining to maximum allowable emission of noise both inside and outside the operator's cab. In no event shall the noise emitted be greater than 90 dB(A). The Contractor may submit documentation to demonstrate compliance with this requirement at the pre-delivery inspection.
The sound level reading will be taken with the equipment unit stationary after the unit has been warmed up for 15 minutes. The reading will be taken with the engine operating at full governed RPM and as applicable, with both side doors or one (1) door and window on opposite side open, one (1) man in the cab with the meter near center of cab about two (2) feet below the roof and twelve inches from the operator's ear. All non-propulsion operating controls may be randomly actuated throughout the test.
25. DELINEATION INSTALLATION: All reflective tape (item 107) of Drawing Number I-36301-DE) shall be supplied and installed by the vendor. All other delineation shall be supplied by Caltrans per the parts matrix attachment (Project: 2223-36301_DESCRIPTION) and installed by the vendor per Drawing Number I-36301-DE. The installation shall be a product of good workmanship. Replacement decals will be at the vendor’s expense.
OPTIONS
The following options or accessories shall be furnished only when specified on the PO .
1. TRAINING: When training is requested on the PO , the Contractor shall provide a qualified factory authorized service representative (not a salesman) to provide training for operators, mechanics, and parts personnel. This training (not a sales presentation) shall consist of hands‑on operation, safety, service, and adjustments for the operators; mechanical repair and adjustment specifications for the shop and field mechanics; parts manual orientation, nomenclature, and ordering procedures for parts personnel. It shall also cover lubrication and servicing using Division of Equipment lubrication products. This lubrication product information will be provided to the Contractor by the Division of Equipment Lubrication and Research Branch listed on the PO contact sheet.
A training plan outline, containing at least all of the subjects listed above, shall be submitted for approval within 30 days after contact award to the Division of Equipment Training Coordinator.
The training shall be provided at the Caltrans Equipment Shop(s) specified on the PO contact sheet. This training shall be for one (1) 8‑hour day (or longer as the Contractor or State deems necessary), and the date(s) of the training will be arranged by the Division of Equipment Training Coordinator listed on the PO contact sheet. The full cost of this service shall be included on Attachment 1 – Pricing Worksheet. All training shall be accomplished within 45 days of acceptance and receipt of the unit at the shop indicated on the PO unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the Contractor and the Division of Equipment Training Coordinator.
2. PLOW DELETE: Grader shall be provided without a plow. All grader hydraulics required to operate a “C” plow shall be provided and plumbed/installed to the grader head frame.
3. FRONT PLOW: In lieu of the standard snow plow, the grader shall be equipped with a 3-way, reversible snow plow mounted to the front head plate of the grader. The plow shall be complete with moldboard, drive frame, cutting edge, hydraulics, and mounting hardware. The plow shall allow for 3-way operation, first being able to cut through snow pack in a "V" type position, second being able to carry snow in a cradle type position, and third being able to operate as a straight, one-way reversible plow (Ref.
