Local Preference Program - City of Long Beach
This document is an attachment to a City of Long Beach solicitation outlining the Local Preference Program criteria and certification requirements for eligible vendors. The program provides preferential scoring consideration to businesses that maintain their principal place of business within the City of Long Beach and possess current business licenses and applicable seller's permits. To qualify for the preference, businesses must complete Attachment C by certifying their eligibility and providing supporting documentation, including copies of valid City of Long Beach business licenses and seller's permits showing a place of business within city limits.
The Local Preference Program awards five extra credit percentage points to all qualifying local businesses. An additional five percentage points are awarded to local businesses that operate from brick and mortar, commercial, or non-residential locations, allowing eligible vendors to receive up to ten total preference points. Applicants must submit their business license number, seller's permit number, and the address associated with their business license. They must also identify whether their registered business location is a brick and mortar/commercial/non-residential location or a residential location. Failure to complete this certification section results in ineligibility for the preference consideration.
