About this file
This file contains Special Provisions for a highway construction project issued by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for riprap boulder rows and fencing installation in Multnomah County, scheduled for February 2025. The project involves installing ODOT-specified riprap boulder rows with gated openings and chain link fence at portions of the I-5 Victory Boulevard Interchange and North Union Road. The work includes furnishing and placing Class 700 riprap boulders (32-48 inches in diameter), installing Type CL-6R Chain Link Fence, clearing and grubbing, and installing gates. Work hours are 7am to 7pm daily, with shoulder closures allowed Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm, but no traffic lane closures permitted.
The project requires contractors to coordinate with ODOT on illegal camp cleanups, protect existing features and structures, implement safety policies, and follow specific installation requirements for both boulders and fencing. Contractors must submit a work plan detailing sequencing and duration with their bid, schedule a pre-construction meeting within 5 days of notice to proceed, and handle all utility locates. The specifications detail precise requirements for boulder placement, including spacing (4-8 inches apart), grouting requirements for steep slopes, and coordination with existing structures. The document does not specify total contract value or specific funding sources, but notes that quantities in the bid item list are estimates only and ODOT reserves the right to adjust quantities as needed.
