About this file

This is a Special Conditions attachment for the October 2026 Meat & Cheese procurement (RFx No. 3000026641) issued by the Louisiana Department of Corrections - Purchasing and Expenditures division. The document establishes specific requirements for chicken leg quarters, livers, and gizzards, applicable to RFx line numbers 1 and 35. Products must be sourced from disease-free chickens in prime condition, with no evidence of emaciation or poor quality. All chicken products must be solidly frozen and processed according to sound operating procedures, showing no signs of defrosting or refreezing upon delivery.

Delivery requirements specify that products arrive blast frozen at the delivery point with ice pack parts not exceeding 10 degrees Fahrenheit when removed from the truck. Products must be packed in plastic-lined boxes, palletized on standard 40" x 48" non-throwaway pallets that will not be exchanged, and secured with monofilament tape or plastic bands applied girth-wise with the packing date noted on the upper right-hand corner of each box. These specifications ensure product quality and proper handling throughout the supply chain.
