About this file
This document is a Dietician Scope of Work that outlines the specific responsibilities and requirements for a consulting dietician in a healthcare facility setting, likely a nursing home or long-term care facility. While the document does not specify a particular state, agency, or consortium, it provides a comprehensive detailed description of the expected duties and professional standards for a dietary consultant.
The consulting dietician is required to provide a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of service per week, with responsibilities spanning nutrition assessments, care plan development, documentation, and quality assurance activities. Key duties include conducting nutrition assessments using MDS 3.0 standards, performing nutrition consults, documenting resident weight changes and wound conditions, completing monthly food safety and quality audits, and coordinating nutritional care with an interdisciplinary approach. Additional services, available upon facility request, include staff in-service training, menu planning assistance, participation in care conferences, and supporting the facility's quality assurance program. The scope emphasizes compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and requires the consultant to possess strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
