About this file
This document contains a federal solicitation opportunity and technical specifications for a dishwasher tank. The solicitation is for design-build services including electrical design and equipment installation at two locations within the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service Pacific West Area Western Regional Research Center in Albany, California. The equipment installations at one location include steam generators, autoclaves, and a dishwasher with associated water tank. Additional power design and installation of electrical components is required to support this equipment. A site visit is scheduled for February 20, 2023 at 10:00am Pacific Time. The technical specifications provide details on the function and components of the dishwasher tank, including inlet and outlet ports for drain water, fresh water, alkaline and acid detergent, compressed air, and electrical power. The tank can operate with either a gravity drain or pump drain system.

CW-185 – pH & temp adjustment tank
Tank inlets:
• 185 drain water inlet
• Fresh water inlet (needs a separate supply)
• Alkaline detergent inlet
• Acid detergent inlet
• Compressed air
• Electrical power
Functioning with gravity drain:
- The pump only works for recirculating the water inside the tank. The three-way valve and the pump drain are not used.
- The gravity drain consists of a pipe on the bottom of the tank, regulated by an actuated valve, and a mechanical overflow.
- The two circuits (recirculating and drain) are separate ones.
Functioning with pump drain:
- The pump circuit works both for recirculating the water and for draining the tank, depending on the position of the three-way valve.
- The gravity drain valve is closed and must have a tri-clamp plug applied on the top of the overflow. Therefore, there is no mechanical overflow.
- The continuous level sensor makes the pump start to drain the excessive water.
- The two circuits (recirculating and drain) are separate ones.
