DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:

PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF PRECAST SHOWER BUILDING

REQUESTING UNIT: Mark Twain National Forest Eleven Point Ranger District #4 Confederate Ridge Road Doniphan, MO 63935

1. INTRODUCTION – The U.S. Forest Service (FS) requires the purchase and installation of one shower building on the Mark Twain National Forest.

A. Project Locations:

a. One (1) shower building (Markham Springs Recreation Area) will be installed 4 miles west of Williamsville, MO on Hwy 49 just west of the Black River. 36° 58' 23.9999" N 90° 36' 6.0001" W (Wayne County, MO) Rt 1 Box 144B, Williamsville, MO 63967

2. ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS

A. Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm unless otherwise approved by COR.

B. Special Qualifications: Contractor must be certified by the manufacturer to install the product.

C. Safety & Worksite Housekeeping: The Contractor shall take all precautions to maintain a safe work site at all times, in a condition that will prevent damage or injury to person or property, both Government or otherwise. All worksites shall be kept free of litter or other debris at all times, and upon completion of work all residual materials shall be removed from the site and the area left clean. All debris will be lawfully disposed of off-site.

D. As approved, remove obstructions, trees, shrubs, grass, and other vegetation as needed. The limits of clearing shall be held to a minimum and only if necessary.

3. SCOPE – The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials, supplies, and services that are not specified herein as Government-furnished, which are necessary to comply with the requirements of this contract. Ancillary work items not listed below, though necessary to attain the completed project, shall be included in the contract.

A. Product Specification

a. shower building to have two separate 2 fully accessible showers and two sinks

b. precast concrete building

c. All wall to floor interior surface seams shall have a minimum 1” radius coving made of high strength grout.

d. Interior and exterior lights

e. Galvanized steel doors with heavy duty tamper resistant dead-bolt

f. ABA/ADA compliant grab bars

g. Wall vent will be crank operated allowing the unit to be opened or closed. Crank will be removable. Vent cover will be 14-gauge 304 stainless steel and anchored into the concrete wall with high strength anti-rust tap con fasteners. Vent to come with insect screen. Cover to be recessed a minimum ¾” on exterior walls with a 45-degree bevel. Interior to be flush mounted. Wall vent will not protrude from the wall.

h. Window glazing will be ³̷₁₆” thick translucent pebble finished mar-resistant Lexan

i. Hammer arrester – Installed on water line. 5.

j. Hose bib – Available in the chase area.

k. Lavatory – Vitreous china with back splashguard, front overflow opening, equipped with brass trap and drainpipe without stopper. Sink will be 20” wide x 18” front to back x 5¾” deep with ADA trap cover. stainless steel fixtures available.

l. Main shut-off valve and drain

m. Shower benches to be heavy duty, type 304 satin finish stainless steel with phenolic slats

n. High efficiency commercial grade water heater

o. Breaker panel – Sized to meet load requirements and mounted to meet electrical code.

p. Interior lighting – Vandal resistant fixtures with built-in occupancy sensor, energy efficient

LED lights

q. Exterior lighting – Vandal resistant fixtures with built-in photoelectric switch, energy efficient LED lights.

r. Exhaust fans – All wet location motion activated with speed control in chase area to control

CFM.

s. Wiring – Conduit, surface mounted in the service area and concealed in the user compartments. All wire will be copper.

t. GFI outlets provided per code requirements.

u. Equal or equivalent to RAINIER BUILDING STYLE (Attachment 3).

v. cedar shake textured roof

w. Java brown color to match other vault toilets in vicinity

B. Installation specification

a. Contractor shall install according to manufacturer’s recommendation.

b. Contractor is responsible for working with technical POC to determine and adjust to site conditions.

C. Contractor is responsible for demolition of existing bathroom and excess fill from installation used to fill void left. All material from demolition can be buried in vault.
