About this file
This attachment specifies requirements for an automated nucleic acid isolation system procurement. The Catle Fever Tick Research Laboratory requires a system capable of isolating high quality DNA from 48 samples using magnetic bead kits. The open system should have sample temperature controls, heating capabilities, UV light for decontamination, and a touchscreen interface. Additional requirements include a QR code scanner for loading protocols, sample tracking through two years, and temperature controls to assist with lysis and elution steps. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 12805B23Q0731 from the Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service Field Research Implementation and Information Delivery Plains Area to procure an automated nucleic acid purification system to support research activities.

SOW for an automated nucleic acid isolaon system
The Catle Fever Tick Research Laboratory requires an automated nucleic acid isolaon system. This system will help with accuracy, precision, and consistency in the nucleic acid isolaon process. It will lessen the amount of pipeng that USDA personnel will undergo reducing the risk of repeve strain injuries. The system can be one to three instruments to run up to 48 samples. The system should be open sourced and be able to use magnec bead kits to isolate high quality DNA. It needs to have UV light capabilies to decontaminate aer running protocols. It should have sample temperature controls to help with lysis and eluon steps, heang capabilies to help with the extracon process, a QR code scanning system for loading protocols onto the instrument, a touch-screen control panel, and at least a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
