1.0 General
The Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Office of Justice Services (OJS) has a requirement for a FedRAMP authorized vendor to provide a turn-key cloud-based electronic cell check system with integrated mobile devices to perform electronic cell checks at twenty (20) BIA OJS detention facilities listed below. The system must be capable of providing real-time reporting and include daily weekly, and monthly logs.
Contractor shall provide delivery and training schedule by facility.
2.0 Background
The BIA OJS goal is to provide a safe and secure setting for Native American Inmates incarcerated in the BIA detention facilities.
Currently, inmate cell checks are completed manually and later hand-written into various logs. This is a challenge for the staff doing this manually because the documented cell checks on all inmates are not completed in real-time and poses many risks to the information not documented immediately or accurately. This would include inmates at risk leading to in-custody deaths, overdoses or serious injuries in the detention facilities.
