1.1 SCOPE OF WORK. The contractor shall complete all landscaping work outlined below in zone 1. The location of this zone is included in an image attached for reference. Any flora detailed in the project will be used as available and if unavailable the best match shall be used in its stead. There is no irrigation available in any of these zones and irrigation cannot and will not be installed. The following is a noncomprehensive list of examples of appropriate flora that may be used [the most important requirement is that any items used must be drought tolerant and be able to survive with only natural (i.e. rainwater) watering] : Pink Muhly Pampas, White Pampas Grass, Pink Pampas Grass, Pink Loropetalum, White Loropetalum, Sunshine Ligustrum, Camellia, Purple Hearts, Sago Palm, Yucca, Large Aloe or Agave plants, Star Jasamine, Rhododendrons, Knockout Roses, and/or Drift Roses. Other plants can be used if they are drought tolerant and can grown in an area where irrigation is not available.

1.2 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

a) The period of performance for this project is the time to plant all required trees/flora and grounds turf refresh, plus 30 days after the planting commences.

b) Each area should have a minimum of 3 – 4 different types/species of plants of differing sizes and colors unless otherwise specified. The total amount of plants should be enough to fill the area but not crowd the area and prevent growth.

c) The attachment has a link to the Google Maps of the AF Campus and measurements can be taken from there to determine appropriate quantities, etc.

d) Slate chips shall be grey in color and heavy enough to withstand leaf and debris blowing from blower machines.

e) Concrete edging should be grey in color and be a close match to the examples attached.
