DATE: 18 June 2020
TITLE: Pressure Washers
1. PURPOSE: Wash/rinse/clean unit assigned aircraft IAW T.O. 1-1-691 para. 3.4.1, “High Pressure/Hot Wash Equipment. If approved by the aircraft SPD and/or the equipment SPM, high pressure/hot water wash equipment can be used for general purpose cleaning of aircraft, support equipment, and vehicles. These machines can deliver four gallons per minute of water and/or cleaning solution at a temperature of 210 degrees F and a pressure of 3000 PSI at the attach points on the machine for each output hose. These machines shall be operated per these instructions and the directions in the specific equipment operating manual.”
1.1 The intrinsically safe pressure washers that are being requested will be utilized to accomplish aircraft washes assigned to the unit. The 182nd AMXS accomplish approximately 20 aircraft washes per year (aircraft are washed prior to every isochronal inspection, and every 180 days). Aircraft washes currently take 3-4 days to accomplish;
the projected ETIC with the requested pressure washers will be 2-3 days.

PRODUCT REQUIREMENT: The contractor shall provide all materials necessary to meet the required specifications for intrinsically safe pressure washers, to include any plumbing and electrical upgrades required to building 632. Current water supply must be upgraded to provide pressure washers with continuous softened water. The contractor shall also provide personnel with hands on training on how to operate the units, instruction manuals, manufacturer warranty, training on general equipment upkeep, and parts sourcing.
3. DELIVERY LOCATION AND DELIVERY DATE: Illinois Air National Guard 2416 S. Falcon Blvd, Bldg 632 Peoria, IL 61607.
Needed no later than 15 November, 2020 to include 30-45 day lead time.

The current pressure washers are not optimal and numerous hours are wasted filling the water reservoir’s , fueling the units, moving current units in and out of the facility during inclement weather, and lost time due to maintenance. The current units are also ran inside the facility creating a loud work environment and exhaust fumes are exhausted into the hangar bay.
5. SPECIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Each unit will be installed on opposing walls inside of building 632.
The unit will need to have a maximum rating of 4 gallons per minute @ 3000 PSI (gallons per minute and PSI will be split when both spray gun triggers are pulled). Both units must be intrinsically safe/explosion-proof for use in Class 1, Division 1 hazardous locations. Both units must be hard installed on the floor or wall and be supplied with softened water.
5.1 If intrinsically safe pressure washers require changes/upgrades to current plumbing and electrical, all must be provided by the contractor. Plumbing MUST prevent backflow of contaminants into the drinking water system due to cross-connection.
5.2 Two hose reels attached to each unit with a minimum of 150’ of hose on each reel/spray gun in order to reach the nose and tail of the aircraft.
