3. Government-furnished/Contractor-installed (OFCI) products.
4. Contractor's use of site and premises.
5. Coordination with occupants.

1.02 PROJECT INFORMATION
A. Project Identification: FY24 Fremont-Winema Roof Replacements
B. Project Location: 61100 Highway 140E, Oregon 97622
C. Project Description:
1. The Bly Ranger Station is in the town of Bly, Oregon, approximately 50 miles from Klamath Falls, Oregon and serves as the headquarters for the Bly Ranger District.
2. The Ranger Station was originally constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) between 1936 and 1942, and all the buildings being considered under this contract were built during this time. The current cedar shake roofs are planned to be removed and replaced with a synthetic cedar imitation shake to both maintain the original character of the structures, while also increasing the fire resilience of the structures and reducing maintenance needs. Several of the structures are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
1.03 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Refer to the Drawings for the number of buildings, estimated roof sizes, and esti-mated existing conditions. All structures currently have cedar shake roofing. Re-place each roof with synthetic cedar shake from an approved manufacturer.
2. For each Pay Item, work should include at a minimum:
a. Removal of existing cedar shake roofing, including shingles, flashing, under-layment, substrate (as needed), and other material that comprises the roofing.
i. Existing roofing system consists of cedar shake roofing with flashing.
Underlayment and roof decking is not believed to be present.
August 31, 2023 2024 Fremont-Winema Roof Replacements 01 10 00 2
b. Installation or replacing of roof decking and replacing flashing, interlayment, underlayment, shingle caps, and other materials that comprise the roofing.
i. Install materials as required by synthetic shingle manufacture to com-ply with warranty.
ii. To comply with historical requirements, if not listed elsewhere in con-tract, all efforts should be made to ensure visual appearance of build-ing, flashing, or other materials matches existing materials, or those in-dicated on original plans.
iii. If roof decking does not currently exist, but shake manufacturer re-quires its installation, install decking according to manufacturer’s rec-ommendations. Prior to installation, perform an engineering survey to ensure that structure can support the shingles, decking, and additional accessories, according to Section 070150.19 “Preparation for Reroof-ing”
3. Drawings provided and dimensions of buildings are from original designs and are provided for an estimation only. They may not represent the current conditions and have not been verified to be accurate. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to field-verify roof dimensions prior to bidding and procurement of materials. Cost-adjustments shall not be made for differing roof dimensions; roof dimensions provided are only estimations to give a general scope of work.
4. Each Bid Item should be bid as a turn-key operation, meaning all incidental costs in-cluding, but not limited to, mobilization, labor rates and costs, material purchases, handcrafting, disposal costs, permits, and all other items necessary to accomplish project goals should be incorporated into unit cost. No additional cost allowances shall be made.
B. Reference all contract documents for all other Work to be completed as a part of this con-tract.
