About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the purchase of one ultraviolet (UV) sensitive high-speed camera for the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio. The document is dated 5 May 2025 and specifies a firm fixed-price contract for equipment to support detonation research.
The camera must meet the following minimum technical requirements: over 75,000 frames per second at full resolution of 1280x800; over 1 million frames per second at reduced resolution; minimum 40 nanosecond exposure; 12-bit sensor resolution; UV sensitivity with at least 70% quantum efficiency at 300 nm; weight under 25 lbs; Ethernet connectivity; and an internal shutter for remote black reference. The contractor must deliver the complete system to WPAFB within 12 weeks of contract award, with all shipping costs and insurance included in the proposal. No additional training or installation is required, as the camera is designed for straightforward integration with existing laboratory infrastructure. The contractor shall provide a one-year warranty covering defects in material and workmanship under normal use. Payment of 100% is due upon submission of a properly prepared invoice and final inspection and acceptance, with invoices to be submitted through the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) system.

STATEMENT OF WORK
ULTRAVIOLET (UV) SENSITIVE HIGH
SPEED CAMERA
Title: UV Sensitive High Speed Camera
Document Date: 5 MAY 2025
This document covers the purchase of 1 UV Camera for AFIT/ENY
1. Background: The Air Force Institute of Technology, AFIT, does not currently have a ultraviolet sensitive high speed camera of a sufficient speed to capture detonation phenomena.
An UV camera will allow for extremely fast gating of the images in the region of interest which is essential to future detonation research in which the optical intensities over certain emission bands of interest are quite dim and need to be captured fast due to the transient nature of detonations. This specification is for an UV sensitive camera delivered on a firm fixed price contract. The camera shall incorporate the following hardware capabilities for the proper testing of detonation phenomena.
2. Minimum Technical Requirements:
a. Over 75,000 frames per second at a full resolution of 1280x800.
b. Over 1 million frames per second at reduced resolution.
c. Minimum of 40 nanosecond exposure
d. 12-bit resolution on the sensor.
e. UV Sensitivity with a quantum efficiency of at least 70% at 300 nm.
f. Weight under 25 lbs.
g. Ethernet Connectivity
h. Internal Shutter for remote black reference.
3. Testing and Training Requirement
a. The operation of the camera is straight forward and designed to be integrated with the existing laboratory infrastructure. No additional training or installation is required.
4. Delivery: The company shall properly ship the system to the Air Force Institute of Technology at WPAFB, OH. All shipping costs to include insurance will be included in contractor’s proposal. Great care using standard, approved packaging methods shall be taken.
5. Lead Time: The contractor shall deliver a complete system no later than 12 weeks after contract award.
6. Warranty: Free from defects in material and workmanship, under normal and proper use in accordance with manual, for the period of time of one year after receipt.
7. Payments: The contractor shall be paid upon submission of a properly prepared invoice and after final inspection and acceptance has been made. A proper invoice shall cite the contractor’s name and address, invoice number, invoice date, order number, contract line-item number (CLIN), description of the supplies or service, unit of issue, unit price and extended price, terms of any prompt payment discount offered, and who to notify in the event that the invoice is defective. The Invoice Shall be submitted to the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF https://wawf.eb.mil/) in accordance with the terms of the final contract award 100% payment upon completion of all requirements specified in the Statement of Work.
